• Fulbright Scholarship, Masters Degree in Fine Arts at
George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA , 1991.

• Awarded National Prize Aquileo Echeverría, 1998.
• Japan Foundation Scholarship, printmaking and Noh theatre
1999-2000, Japan.
• Course on theatre and performance and dramaturgy of
dress, Casa del Teatro Mexico D.F., 2000.
• Selected for the art video “Signs” the annual
movie and video art awards 2002, Centro de Cine, Costa Rica.
• Has work for the Smithsonian Institution, The National
Gallery of Art and Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
• Several courses in Mexico and Japan related to arts
on stage and stage design.
The work of Matamoros revolves around the concept of stroke
and line in movement. Through various means such as painting,
drawing installation, dramaturgy of dress, scenography, video
art etc., she has developed different characters, environments
and symbols that are based on research in the fields of sociology,
psychology and arts on stage.
Matamoros´ work has been exhibited individually and collectively
nationally and internationally since 1980.
