 Dr. Jairo Vargas, a distinguished and accomplished Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgeon, has been in private practice in the San José area since 1994. Many
general practitioners refer patients to Dr. Vargas due to his fine reputation as an oral
surgeon and maxillofacial specialist; and, because he has developed a high level of trust
and confidence with the many patients that come from all over for care as a result of
recommendations from family, friends, and co-workers.
Dr. Vargas graduated from the University of Costa Rica Dental School and completed
studies in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg,
Germany. He is currently a faculty member at the Dental School of the University of Costa
Rica teaching Oral Surgery, and... is a Fellow at the International Association of Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgery.
In addition to being an active member of the Oral and Maxillofacial Academy of Costa
Rica Dental Society, Dr. Vargas has published case study research in the prestigious
national dental journal Odontología Actual. Since 1994 Doctor Vargas has held the title
of Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the National Hospital San Juan de Díos in
San José... which is a University teaching hospital with 1000 adult beds.
