Now there are three most important ways to prevent tooth decay. You already know that a regular routine of daily Brushing and Flossing are the first two steps to a cleaner, brighter, and healthier smile. The third way is the use of Dental Sealants, which we apply as a thin plastic coating on the biting surfaces of your teeth to create a barrier to seal out the decay-causing bacteria that live in plaque!

The formation of plaque is considered the primary cause of cavities. As you and your children eat during the day, food particles combine with bacteria to form a sticky substance called plaque that attaches on and in between tooth surfaces. If it is not removed regularly, it can produce acids which attack the tooth enamel and produce cavities in the teeth leading to further tooth decay.

We recommend sealants for both you and your children This slippery plastic material makes it harder for plaque to stick to the tiny grooves on the biting surfaces of the teeth...thereby reducing the risk of forming cavities and tooth decay. With a special instrument, a rather simple process applies a thin layer of the material to the biting surfaces of your teeth. This preventative treatment to keep your teeth healthy, lasts for a long time and is effective both on the young and old, alike.
