Dr. Miguel Alfaro, M.D. graduated from University
of Costa Rica Medical School. Trained in general surgery at
University of Costa Rica, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and
University of Missouri, Columbia. He completed Residency studies in
plastic reconstructive surgery at the University of Colorado Medical
Center in Denver in 1976. |
He is currently a faculty member
at the Medical School of the University of Costa Rica and has been
sponsorship professor at the University of Toronto and the University
of Melbourne. In addition to being an active member of
many renown medical societies and having
his research published in prestigious medical journals, doctor Alfaro
is currently, Chairman of the Department of Surgery of the National
Hospital San Juan de Díos in Costa Rica and former Chief of the
Plastic Surgery Service and Chief of the Burn Unit at the same hospital.
This is a university teaching hospital with 1000 adults beds.
